YOUR PRIVATE TOUR TO SOME OF THE MOST INTERESTING ART GALLERIES AND ART INSTITUTIONS IN STOCKHOLM WITH ART ADVISOR IRÉNE CARLSON
Follow Art Advisor Iréne Carlson on a private tour to some of the most interesting art institutions and galleries in Stockholm.
In just 1 day you will discover the artsy Stockholm with your own Private Guide and Art Advisor!
09.00 We will start in the morning with a scenic drive to Djurgården, the beautiful island wihich once was a royal hunting ground and now is a part of the world’s first national city park and has become the most visited recreational area in Stockholm.
Our goal is Waldemarsudde Art Museum with it’s sculpture park. Once it belonged to Prince Eugéne who was not only a famous artist himself but also an avid art collector.
The sculpture park is admission free.
10.00 Next stop is at Åmells Konsthandel, a family owned business run in third generation. Founded in 1922, it is today’s world leader in Scandinavian Art and also works with art ranging from the 18th century’s international Old Master paintings to Contemporary Art. Almost always exhibitions with different themes at display, selling books from it’s own publishing house.
11.00 We visit the Wetterling Gallery which was the first gallery in Scandinavia to exhibit artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein and Frank Stella. Specializing in American Pop Art. Natalia Edenmont is one of his Swedish Contemporary artists and she also exhibit in New York.
12.00-13.00 Lunch suggestion: Hotel Lydmar on Blasieholmen, a life-style hotel with a great interest in art. Art exhibitions and events all year round.
13.15 Skajs Antikhandel displays and sells an exquisite blend of upscale antiques and art. The main focus is on ”antique versus contemporary”. Worth mentioning that they won the Collector’s Award a few years ago as the best exhibitor at the largest art and antique fair in Sweden.
14.15 The exhition ”Stockholm by Artists” at Sven-Harry’s Art Museum is something we can’t miss! We will walk through the centuries and experience how artists have portrayed and interpreted the Swedish capital.
Sven-Harry Karlsson who found this museum, was a building contractor and an art collector. He decided to bild this spectacular museum with a gleaming brass facade, designed by Wingårds Architects, because he wanted everyone to be able to enjoy his art the way he did.
15.15 Andersson-Sandström Gallery is next! A gallery in the forefront when it comes to contemporary international sculptures. Exhibits artists like Louise Bourgois, Anton Gormley, Tony Cragg and Jaume Plensa.
16.15-17.00 We finish the tour with a guided art-walk in the charming Old Town (Gamla Stan) where we will among others meet the smallest sculpture in Stockholm, ”Boy looking at the moon”, see how some of the famous artists lived and also see the first picture of Stockholm from 1535.

This exclusive tour is made for small groups and can be tailored after your requirements:
The first day is for the guests to have a platform that gives them the frames of reference for the next day’s experiences. We will visit some of the most interesting art galleries and art institutions in Stockholm. The next day they will also be given the opportunity to purchase art if desired so therefore this is a good start to a preparatory dialogue with the art advisor / guide. On this day, we can go into more details on the different taste and liking. Based on that I might correct the second day’s gallery round.
The second day is more flexible and depend on external factors; which exhibits going on, what art is most interesting for the customer, etc.
This tour is created for a group of maximum 6 people but it can be modified depending on the number and desires of the group. It can be shorter; maybe there is no more than one day or even just a couple of hours to spend.
In the first place, it is my guests who decide, then according to their needs and requirements I tailor the tour!
Art Advisory is included but transport, entrance fees and meals are additional costs depending on the requests of the group.
